SHE LIVED OUT ON THE HIGHWAY BESIDE THE SEA BUT WHEN SHE DRIFTED DOWN MY WAY SHE WENT SAILING OUT…INTO THE DREAM LIKE A COMET AT MIDNIGHT SHE PAINTS THE SKY WITH THE LIGHT OF HER LAUGHTER AND THE SPARKLE IN HER EYES WE WERE MARRIED AT SUNRISE BESIDE THE SEA AND AS I DRIFTED IN HER EYES I WENT SAILING OUT… INTO THE DREAM

Now the time has come to go To leave the stage and stop the show A little farther down the line There's room to grow Where the dark and dusty dreams Lie scattered on the road I can't regret the things we've done We chased the moon to catch the sun And though my dreams have reached an end We've just begun To fill our space in time And watch the waters run Stand back, we've gone too far Like lovers in search of a star To make us more than what we are Now with the morning sun you'll fly To chase your dreams across the sky When you reach the other end And say goodbye Will you think of me Now and then And remember me...

about

When I was a young musician, like many young musicians, my first band practiced in a bandmate's basement. Little did I realize, back then, that, almost a half-century later, I'd return to a basement to write the final chapter of my musical "legacy", such as it is. And yet, that's exactly what happened.

I recently set up a recording studio in my own basement...a musical "man cave", if you will. Once upon a time, not that long ago, doing so would have cost a couple hundred grand. Today, thanks to modern technology, I was able to gather together everything I needed to start recording new music, right here at Chez Nims, for only a couple thousand dollars. That's pretty amazing, when you think about it.

Another amazing element of modern technology came into play, during the recording of these songs. In this age of the Internet, I was also able to gather together, via quick and convenient file transfers, digital contributions from musicians all around the globe. Kevin and Andy in Scotland; Cliff in London; Chris in Australia; Lorenzo and Aledelu in Italy; Gil in Texas; Larry in Ohio...twenty years ago, our musical paths never would have intersected with one another. Today, all these talented musicians are just a mouse click away.

I'm grateful to each of them...along with my closer-to-home friend and favorite drummer, Ron Baumgartner...for contributing their time and talents to the various tracks on this album. Thanks, gang. I couldn't have done it without you.

But "done it", I have. And chances are, I'll do it again. More songs will come out of my musical man cave, I'm sure. It would be a shame to waste all this amazing technology, don't ya think?

Enjoy...

about

Jack Nimersheim Fort Mitchell, Kentucky

Fifty-five years!

Over a half-century. That's how much time has passed since I first picked up a guitar, stepped on stage and started playing music for the folks "out there".

Fortunately, no recordings exist of those early performances. The albums on this page, however, provide a pretty good retrospective of the music I've helped create, over the past fifty-five years.
