A Tale of Two

lyrics

It was the best of times.
Teddy bears and candy Valentines
I’d lay you down to sleep with nursery rhymes.
A fleeting smile, a touch of your hand.
You made me feel so strong.
It was the best of times.

And we were there for you.
To chase away the night and care for you.
We thought our love for one would keep us two.
A child’s need, the tie that would bind.
How could we be so wrong?

A careless word, a secret desire.
And we were torn apart.

It was the worst of times.
Our love for you became a battle line.
Once a family, but now resigned…
To live as three the rest of our lives.
I know that seems so long.

But, as you sleep, I’ll whisper goodbye.
And then I’ll flee the best of my life.

about

Jack Nimersheim Fort Mitchell, Kentucky

Fifty years!

That's how much time has passed since I first stepped on stage, picked up a guitar, and started playing music for the folks "out there".

Lucky for you, I don't have any recordings of those "teenage" performances. The albums on this page, however, provide a pretty good retrospective of the music I've been fortunate enough to help create, between the early '70s and now.
